About Me!

Hi there! My name is Shannon Goyette, LICSW, and I am passionate about creating a therapeutic space where you feel genuinely seen, supported, and accepted exactly where you are. My approach is warm and collaborative, creating space for you to slow down, process your experiences, and make meaningful, sustainable change. I value authenticity, curiosity, and self-compassion, and I strive to help you build a healthier relationship with yourself without shame or pressure.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work, with advanced training in grief and loss, mindfulness-based stress reduction, trauma, and somatic therapy. I provide mental health therapy to adults (18+) throughout Massachusetts who may be navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, substance use, burnout and boundaries, self-esteem challenges, or relationship stress. Whether you are feeling stuck, disconnected from yourself, or exhausted from carrying too much for too long, therapy can offer a space to reconnect with your strengths and create a more balanced and fulfilling life.

My therapeutic process is compassionate and personalized, focusing on the whole person—not just symptoms. I draw from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), somatic techniques, and person-centered therapy. I believe therapy should feel both supportive and practical—helping you better understand yourself while also developing tools you can use in everyday life. Together, we can work toward greater emotional well-being, stronger self-trust, and a life that feels more aligned with your values.

Seeking support can feel vulnerable, but you don't have to weather life's seasons alone.

The Oak Tree

The name Steady Oak Therapy reflects the heart of my work: creating a grounded, supportive presence where growth can happen even during life’s most difficult seasons. Oak trees are known for their deep roots, resilience, and ability to weather storms while continuing to grow. In many ways, healing works the same way. Life can bring grief, uncertainty, stress, and experiences that leave us feeling unsteady, but therapy can help cultivate a stronger sense of grounding, resilience, and trust in yourself.
